# Making a cash sale

## Why this matters

A completed cash sale records the products sold and the full payment received at the same time.

## Before you start

The product must be active and available at the current location. If your business uses till control, open your till before taking payment.

## Steps

1. Open **Sell**.
2. Search, scan, or browse for each product and add it to the sale.
3. Check the item, quantity, price, and total.
4. Choose **Take payment**.
5. Select **Cash** or the immediate payment method the customer used.
6. For cash, choose **Exact** or enter the amount received.
7. Check the payment, then choose **Complete sale**.

## What changes in Dukarun

Stock falls by the quantity sold. Dukarun records the completed sale, payment received, revenue, cost of goods sold, and margin.

## If something does not look right

* If **Take payment** is unavailable, make sure the sale contains at least one item.
* If Dukarun asks for a till, open it before taking payment.
* Check the quantity and price before completing the sale. Correcting a completed sale is different from editing the current cart.
