# Purchases

Record goods and services received from a supplier. Enter what arrived, what each item cost, and whether you paid now, paid part of the bill, or will pay later.

## After the purchase

If you chose **Pay later**, the unpaid amount becomes a supplier payable. When you settle it, [record the supplier payment](/docs/suppliers/recording-a-supplier-payment.md).
